6.09.040 - Running at large prohibited.

It will be unlawful for the owner of any animal to allow their animal to run at large and off the owner's premises within the corporate jurisdiction of the City as defined in Section 6.09.010 D.

12.28.010 - Time for removal of snow—Expense paid by special assessment.

It shall be unlawful for a property owner or occupant to permit snow or ice to remain on any sidewalk for more than twenty-four (24) hours after snowfall has ceased. Unless otherwise provided within these ordinances, all sidewalks must provide at least a thirty-six (36) inch wide area free and clear from snow and ice across the subject property. When a building fronts upon a street with no intervening front or side yard setback, sidewalks must be clear of snow and ice from the building to the curb. When removal of ice from a sidewalk is not reasonably possible through ordinary effort, the owner or occupant shall sprinkle or spread suitable material, such as sand or salt upon the sidewalk to reduce the risk of slipping for pedestrian travel. Upon failure of the owner or occupant of the property to remove snow or ice from the sidewalks, the City may provide for removal and may collect the cost of removal from the owner or occupant and may tax the cost of removal by special assessment against the abutting property. The cost of removal may include all administrative, legal and contractual expenses incurred for removal and assessment. In addition to the abatement remedies provided in this section, any person violating this section shall be subject to the general penalty provision as set forth in Chapter 1.20 of this Code. (Authority SDCL 9-30-5)

B.  No landowner or occupant shall allow grass, weeds or noxious vegetation to grow to a height of more than eight (8) inches.
