Position Objectives:
Work under general supervision to provide street, water, and sewer service to the City of Belle Fourche.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Learn to Install, maintain, and repair meters, pumps, pipelines, mains, fire hydrants and the like as directed.
- Learn to assist in the operation, maintenance and repair of the lift station, leach fields, sewer treatment ponds and sewer lines.
- Clean storm, water and sewer catch basins, repairing broken sewer lines and replacing worn and damaged parts.
- Maintain and repair the streets of Belle Fourche as directed by Superintendent.
- Operate snow removal equipment efficiently.
- Learn correct operation of equipment which may include but is not limited to front end loader, bobcat, sweeper, dump truck, sprayer, snow removal equipment, sander, pumps, air compressors, hand tools, small engine equipment, trucks, plows, sanders, and sewer camera.
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
One to three months related experience and/or training;
Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- South Dakota Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License) within 1 year
- SD Pesticide and Herbicide applicator license within 1 year
- May be required to work outside the traditional work schedule.
- May be subject to call-out and/or call-back.
