Group Fitness Instructor

Position Objectives:

City of Belle Fourche Rec Center is seeking fitness instructors. All specialties are encouraged to apply; i.e., Aquatics, Line Dancing, Pilates, etc.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Program Coordinator that are appropriate to this job description.

 Instruct a variety of group fitness classes (youth, adult, senior)

• Participate in health-related programs and events.
• Educate participants on proper and safe exercise form.
• Assist with participant sign-in, attendance tracking, waivers and promotions as needed.
• Maintain equipment organization and safety.
• Enforce policies and procedures in group fitness activity areas.
• Execute risk management plan.
• Attend continuing education workshops.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be at least sixteen (16) years of age

Desirable Training and Experience:

•          One to three months related experience and/or training;
•          Or equivalent combination of education and experience
