Position Objectives:
Maintain public property, cemeteries, parks, rodeo grounds, softball complex, skating rinks, library, and visitor center/museum building in neat and orderly condition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Mow lawns, rake leaves, and keep grounds free of other debris
- Shovel snow from walks and removes snow from streets as needed
- Spread salt on public passageways to prevent ice buildup
- Cleans grounds and removes litter
- Maintain and repair walks, hedges, swings, benches, gates, fences, walls, playground and other equipment
- Paint fences and outbuildings
- Clean out drainage ditches and culverts
- Assist with burial services such as site of burial, digging of grave or opening of crypt, and placement of equipment and protective covering, with Funeral Director or other officials
Minimum Requirements:
- Must have or be able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement within 1 year
- Must have or be able to obtain pesticide and herbicide certification within 1 year
Desirable Training and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
- Or one to three months related experience and/or training;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Small Engine repair and Irrigation experience preferred
