Contractor Licenses
The Engineering Department is responsible for issuing all general contractor, electrical, and plumbing licenses for the City of Belle Fourche.
All Belle Fourche contractor licenses expire on December 31st of every year. Renewal reminder letters are mailed out in October.
BEWARE OF SCAM EMAIL:
There have been scam emails being sent to citizens impersonating the City of Belle Fourche Planning & Zoning Commission. These emails request the citizen to respond to the email to wire money and have an itemized invoice attached to the email. The City of Belle Fourche will NEVER request payment via money wire. We ask that you do not interact with these emails. If you have received an email requesting you wire money, please call the Engineering Administrative Assistant at 605-723-9370.

Online payments have a convenience fee of 3.25% of the transaction. If an address does not pop up for you, please call 605-723-9370 or 605-892-3006.
If you submit applications via email and would like to pay online, please call 605-723-9370 or 605-892-3006 for instructions. You do not have to pay online to submit online applications, just let us know how you would like to pay as we cannot issue permits or licenses without payment.
The Engineering Department cannot take payments over the phone.
Please refer to the noted address for mail-in payments. The Engineering Department is on the second floor of city hall for in-person payments.
If you are renewing your contractor license and do NOT need to update any information, please contact the Engineering Department before submitting any applications or payments.
